A transfer across Zurich canton starts with a precise address, not simply the word Zurich. An apartment in Winterthur, an office in Dietikon and a hotel in Wädenswil create different journeys even though they share a canton. Zurich Taxi accepts journey requests to and from Zurich Airport and Zurich city. Use this guide to describe the trip accurately, choose the right direction and prepare the details needed for an individual offer. A request becomes a confirmed journey only after availability and the agreed price have been confirmed.
Choose your direction
Start with the right part of the canton
For the airport area, distinguish Kloten, Opfikon and Rümlang rather than entering the airport for every nearby hotel. For the Limmat valley, identify whether the address is in Dietikon or Schlieren. In the Zurich Oberland, use the actual locality, such as Uster, Wetzikon or Hinwil. Around the lake, Horgen, Wädenswil and Meilen are separate destinations. Add the postcode and house number; a familiar district name alone does not tell the driver which entrance is accessible with your luggage.
From your home or hotel to Zurich Airport
Enter your requested pickup time separately from the flight departure time. Check the recommended airport arrival time for your particular flight with the airport and airline, then allow for the road journey and getting from the car to check-in. A booking from Winterthur or the Oberland should be planned from its real address, not from a city-centre travel estimate. For an early departure, finish checkout, collect stored bags and make sure the person travelling can be reached before the agreed pickup.
From Zurich Airport to your destination
Provide the flight number that actually lands at ZRH, the local arrival date and a working passenger telephone number. If your itinerary includes a connection, the first flight is not enough to identify the arrival in Zurich. Keep the final hotel address available after landing and follow the meeting instructions in your confirmation. Landing time is not the same as being ready beside the vehicle: baggage collection and any arrival formalities happen first. Let us know when your flight or destination changes.
Between Zurich city and the surrounding towns
A journey to Zurich city is different from an airport transfer. Specify Oerlikon, Enge, Altstetten or the exact city address instead of choosing ZRH. For a station pickup, agree an accessible meeting point rather than only writing Zürich HB. For a company visit, name the visitor entrance and the appointment time. Trips from the city back to Winterthur, Uster or another locality need their own pickup time; the outward arrangements do not automatically define the return journey.
Choose space for people and luggage
Count adults and children, then list large cases, hand luggage, pushchairs and sports equipment. Families travelling from a lakeside holiday apartment may need more loading space than the seat count suggests. Tell us the age and size of each child when requesting a child seat, and identify any rear-facing requirement. If a passenger needs assistance or brings a mobility aid, describe the practical requirement before choosing a vehicle. The vehicle and requested equipment must be suitable and confirmed for the trip.
Understand the price before confirming
There is no single canton-wide price: exact endpoints, travel time, vehicle and additional stops affect the offer. If you want to collect another passenger in Schlieren before heading from Dietikon to ZRH, include both addresses and the intended order. Ask how waiting and itinerary changes will be handled. Treat any initial estimate as a planning aid until you receive the agreed offer. Check the total, route, date and payment arrangement together so that a low headline number does not hide a different journey.
Keep the return journey separate
For a return booking, enter the second date, direction and flight details explicitly. An arrival shortly after midnight belongs to a new calendar day, even if you started travelling the previous evening. If your accommodation moves from Zurich to another town, send the complete new address with the booking reference. Mention whether the change concerns the outward or return leg. Before travelling, keep the latest confirmation available on your phone and compare the addresses, passenger count and luggage with your actual plans.
